The key to an enjoyable Pilates Practise is the teacher.
Linda is rigorous in ensuring that we understand the exercises and do them correctly, and listen to our bodies and not our minds!
The classes are always absorbing and interesting. You can arrive for the practise completely exhausted and after an hour and a half of "challenging" work, leave feeling relaxed yet exhilarated.
Lindas knowledge of Pilates is exceptional, her dedication and encouragement to her pupils unswerving.

The studio is a haven, mats are laid out in advance of the classes and so the class time is used fully. The music is perfect and the whole experience is completely professional and absorbing. The relaxation/meditation at the end has proved to be incredibly powerful on some occasions. I highly recommend her classes – she is an outstanding teacher. Linda is an exceptional teacher with an emphasis on a holistic approach and I have personally been attending Linda’s classes for several years.
The setting provides tranquillity and at each session the classes vary using different pieces of equipment, to stretch, strengthen and challenge the body and mind, adjusted to ability.
I always feel invigorated and restored with a huge sense of well being at the end of each class.

Linda Macaulay's class has actually made a difference to my life and the way I view myself; the very fact that I have stuck with it for 5 - 6? years speaks volumes - I have never shown much stickability in the past.
My posture has improved, I am very aware now when I am slumping (often, but I correct myself).
At a recent medical check I was surprised to learn that I am now the height I was in my youth - having lost 1/2 inch for many years.
I feel fitter now than I did in my younger years.
I appreciate greatly the little tips about health that Linda passes on - and her obvious desire to share her knowledge for our betterment.
The level of expertise and committment she puts in to each class in truly professional.

What a revelation to have discovered Pilates - after wasting so many years on the latest "quick fix" fitness fad, that you could ever stick with; I now truly look forward to my Pilates sessions!

I have been doing Pilates for some 5 years now. Before starting Pilates I had been diagnosed with Arthritis in the spine and had been a regular visitor to Osteopaths and Chiropractors which worked in the short term but I was looking for a long term answer. I work on computers which was aggravating my back problem, and have always had tightness around my shoulders. When I look at photographs of me from years ago my shoulders were always up near my ears. Not anymore.

Linda is a great teacher, her lessons are varied, as a result you don't arrive at class thinking " here we go again, same old, same old". You never know what is in store for you that lesson. I have done lots of classes for different exercise regimes before and got bored with the repetitive nature of the classes. Linda explains things very clearly, and shows you the moves. You then work at your own level.

Last year I joined in a "Drop in" class for mixed ability pupils. It was not until I attended these classes that I realise just how far I have come. Looking at photos of me now my shoulders are a million miles from my ears and my posture is so much better. I have not had to have any treatment on my back since starting classes.

I hope to be doing Pilates for many more years to come. It's great to think that there is something that you can do into your 70's that keeps you flexible. I would recommend the classes to everyone.
